In the Bible; Matt 22:36 Yeshua (Jesus) was asked “Master, which is the greatest commandment in the law (Torah)”?
Within the verses following this query (Matt 22:37-40) we see
Yeshua's response to this most important question; 37“You shalt love Yahweh thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind. 38 This is the first and
great commandment. 39 And the second is like unto it, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself”.
When Yeshua answered in this way, He was clearly expressing an
abbreviated summary of what is commonly referred to as “The 10 Commandments”.
The Ten Commandments then are simply a representation of the first five books of the Bible which are
often referred to as the Torah, Pentateuch or “The Law”; and of course the remainder of the the Bible
(Genesis - Revelation) is also based upon these principals expressed in “The Ten Commandments” as well .
The Ten Commandments then are a summary of agreement that Yahweh God's people affirm when they enter into covenant
with Him.
Unfortunately few people hear these things in many of today's "Christian" "churches". In years gone by, the Ten Commandments and the Hebrew Roots of the Christian faith were common knowledge and typically taught in America's churches.

he that loveth me shall be loved of my Father, and I will love him, and will manifest myself to him. John 14:21

Fear God, and keep His commandments: for
this is the whole duty of man.
For
God shall bring every work into judgment, with every secret thing, whether it be good, or whether it be evil.

Apostle Paul
said: What shall we say then? Is "the law" (Ten Commandments) sin? God forbid. Nay, I had not known sin, but
by the (Ten Commandments) "law": for I had not known lust, except the (Ten Commandments) "law" had said, Thou shalt not covet
Rom 7:7. He went on to say that through Yeshua
(Jesus); The righteousness of "the law" (God / The
Ten Commandments) might be fulfilled in us, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit Rom
8:4.

“But, the moral law contained in the ten commandments,
and enforced by the prophets, he [Christ] did not take away. It was not the design of his coming to revoke any part of this.
This is a law which never can be broken .... Every part of this law must remain in force upon all mankind, and in all ages;
as not depending either on time or place, or any other circumstances liable to change, but on the nature of God and the nature
of man, and their unchangeable relation to each other.” Dwight L. Moody
